At Coastal Taranaki School, as part of being a Manaiakalani school, 1:1 technology is used in all classrooms. In years 0-3, we have school owned iPads. For students in years 4-6, we provide a school owned chrome book available for each student to use during class time.

When students are in year 7 and above, we expect that each student brings a learner owned chromebook to school each day. See information below on preferred models and the Manaiakalani opportunity to purchase a chromebook directly.

Learner owned chromebooks are essential to upholding the Manaiakalani Kaupapa/Programme. 

With these goals in mind a procurement committee convened by Manaiakalani undertakes a rigorous process to determine the best chromebook models for schools. Working together as a collective we are able to put the most powerful and fit for purpose chromebooks in the hands of our learners. 

The procurement process involves testing by:
