We are a Healthy Active Learning School.

Healthy Active Learning (HAL) is a joint government initiative between Sport NZ and the Ministries of Health and Education to improve the well-being of tamariki through healthy eating and drinking and quality physical activity.

What success looks like:

1. Our school understands and recognises the value of the Health, Physical Education and Hauora curriculum.

2. The school supports and promotes quality play, sports, and physical activity opportunities.

3. Teachers are confident and capable of delivering the Health, Physical Education and Hauora curriculum.

4. We support and promote a healthy food and drink environment.

5. Coastal Taranaki School makes well-informed decisions when engaging with external providers.

6. We are connected to their wider community, including whānau and local health and physical activity providers such as Sport NZ.
