Academic Programme
Our academic programme is guided by the New Zealand Curriculum, and can be tailored to suit individual needs. Senior student course options include art, chemistry, computer studies, English, ESOL, geography, graphics, history, mathematics, Māori, music, outdoor education, photography, physical education, physics, technology and textiles. Courses are operated subject to student demand, and other courses may become available.
English Language Support
English language support is available to students and needs are assessed as part of the orientation programme. The ESOL programme is provided by Mrs. Miles and overseen by Ben Naughton, the Director of International Students, and is supported by a variety of media resources.
Accommodation
Coastal Taranaki School arranges homestay accommodation within the local community at a rate of $185 per week. All homes are vetted and visited each term by our Pastoral Care Supervisor to ensure high standards are maintained. Support is available to both students and homestay parents at any time of the day. Students are welcomed upon arrival at New Plymouth Airport or bus station, before settling into their homestay location.
