Outdoor Education

Imagine removing the walls of the classroom and replacing them with the natural environment. Coastal Taranaki School is central to many resources which enable students to develop character through exciting pursuits offered in year 12 and 13 outdoor education. In short, we can turn the imagination into a reality.

Being only ten minutes from the Mt. Taranaki National Park boundary and five minutes from the beach, the opportunities are limitless.

Our course is practical and provides students with opportunities to develop skills and knowledge in kayaking, mountain biking, weather interpretation, adventure-based learning, problem solving and completing a ‘snow skill intensive’. The course involves both theory and practical components, and will enable students to develop leadership and decision making skills.
