Junior News

During the weeks of six and seven, all Year 1-8 classes visited Puke Ariki and took part in the topic ‘Model Pa.’ his session was very valuable and enjoyed by all students. This was a great lead in to our own visit to Puniho Pa later this term. A big thanks to the parents who provided transport and helped at the museum. This was much appreciated by staff and students.

Earlier this week a notice went home about the Year 1-8 visit to Puniho Pa on Friday 21 September. Parent help with transport and the activities will be required please. The permission form and transport slips need to be returned to school before next Friday please.

There are still some chocolates left to be sold for anyone interested. Please see Ms Thomas and she will issue them to you. Money from the chocolates has been used for Discovery Time equipment which the children are loving using. Some has also been used to contribute to a new piece of carpet for the hall. Friends of Coastal Taranaki School have kindly agreed put some money towards this which is much appreciated.

Earlier this term, Friends of Coastal Taranaki School bought new toys for the sandpit. These are well used and enjoyed by many of our students. We wish to thank them for these and let them know their contributions to help and equipment across the school is greatly appreciated. Many thanks!

Our current expectaIon is “being in the right place at the right time”. This was well chosen by the student committee, and the children are working well towards achieving it. As our Fun Friday activity this week, Friday 7th September, we will be having a disco. This will take place from 1:30 – 2:15pm in the School Hall, before our usual junior assembly. The children are invited to wear mufti for the disco but are required to be in school uniform for the remainder of the day.

As you are reading this, the children would have completed the school cross country. All classes had been out training and no doubt the children are proud of their achievements. Good luck to the students who have now been selected to represent our school for the Coastal Cross Country next week.
