Coastal Taranaki School won one of the heats, and made it to the finals of the Secondary Schools Literary Quiz in Hawera. Our team included Jared Wooldridge, Jaydene Transom, Ella Beaumont, Sam Ure, and Sydney Corry. The team had to read ten books, which were the finalists in the NZ Post Book Awards; five young adult fiction and five non-fiction

We didn’t win the Quiz, but Sam Ure won a trip to for two to Wellington & the opportunity to present the ‘Children’s Choice Award’ at the NZ Post Children’s Book Awards Awards Ceremony. The trip included flights, taxis, accommodation at the Amora Hotel, meals and attendance at the Ceremony. Sam took Delwyn, our Coastal Librarian, with her.
