We have much pleasure in announcing our Student Leaders for 2011. It was very special that so many parents were able to be part of the assembly held on Wednesday. The students have been selected following their formal application, and a week of leadership training in Week 2 at TOPEC or Puniho.

We are confident that such a fine group of young people will make an important contribution to the continued growth of Coastal Taranaki School. Many have already displayed their excellent skills and abilities at the many sporting events held in this busy term.

They are, of course, led by our Head Students (Britney Rameka and Stanton Brown) and their Deputies (Sarah Jones and Brook Gray). They are mentored by the Senior Leadership Team.

We wish Stanton a successful return visit to his first school, Marfell Primary School. Stanton has been asked to address their school assembly on Friday. They are very proud of the successes of their ‘old boy’, or should that be ‘ex-pupil’!

On March 31, Britney and Stanton will be part of a Head Students and Prefects forum where they will be sharing the ways students are contributing to, and leading, the successes enjoyed by schools throughout Taranaki.
